MLM Success – Happy New Year!

By

So just before Christmas, I posted my Christmas story that covered the last couple of years of me and my business.  2011 was a big year for me as I finally grasped what it took to be successful in this industry and turned my business from struggling, to profitable in the first 5 weeks of the year.

I’ve faced many challenges along the way but I now realise that every event that appeared to be a failure, or a major setback was just a learning curve.  You see each time I experienced those moments of desperation, I have somehow managed to pick myself up and dust myself off and applied what I learned and kept going……do you do that?

When your first “guaranteed” prospect suddenly stops returning your calls, or when the sale of an affiliate product gets returned and you find yourself back to square one – what do you do?  When your “active downline” suddenly become inactive because life has got in the way for them – what do you do?

When you’re trying to set up a blog or facebook page and your widgets or plugins or apps just won’t work properly, or you’re trying to do something that you just don’t understand – what do you do?

When your children or family need you or when your job is very tiring but you know you need to call your leads, do a training or create a blog post – what do you do?

You see what I found was that the only real difference between me as a success and me as a failure was my own personal mindset, persistence and commitment.

You see when your head is in the right place – the technical obstacles become immaterial, because you just KNOW that a solution will present itself.  It always does.

When the leads start to come in, and the income starts to come in too, the self doubt disappears – have you noticed that?   It is only when there are no leads coming through and no income that the self doubt starts to creep in, you start doubting yourself and then finally it cripples your business if you allow it too.

Does this mean that if you just start thinking positively you can just sit back and wait for everything to work on it’s own?

No of course not – I have worked VERY hard this year to achieve (and blast) my goals but having a strong “why”, a disciplined approach to my business,  and the persistence to see things through has all been helped dramatically by remaining positive and focused on my goals.

I became “goal” orientated after listening to a British athlete called Kelly Holmes – she was a triple gold medal winner at the last Olympics and when interviewed by the television reporter he asked her “What next?” – her answer amazed me.

She said “I don’t know…….I have achieved every goal I set out to achieve and without goals in my life I am lost”

Have you ever forced yourself to think about goals?  It’s powerful stuff (I did a post about some resources on goal setting and mind mapping).

Now one of my biggest goals for 2012 is to work with 5 key people in 12 months to take them to a level of success where they can give up their jobs and have financial independence.

Will you be one of them?

2012 is going to be a really tough year for many and hundreds and thousands of people will be turning to the internet to find a solution to their financial problems.  They will be lured by the appeal of the Network Marketing industry or maybe affiliate marketing, but as high as 95% of them will NEVER earn more than a few dollars online.

I can’t help everyone – I want YOU to help them too, because by helping as many people as you can to achieve success, you will achieve success too.

Doesn’t that sound like a great way to do business?

It does to me, and I will help anyone who wants this enough and is prepared to work hard to get it.  I have NEVER had any sort of easy ride with a coach and a mentor.  This year I partnered with two of the best in the industry and you will be able to tap into this powerhouse of minds too – don’t expect an easy ride, but the journey will be worth it.

It’s not about achieving success that denotes successful people – it’s about the journey”

Still sitting on the fence?

Take a look at my hand picked business opportunity that is perfect for the current economy with exactly the right product – (no opt-in required) -  Just take a look if you want to.

Building real wealth in 2012 with tangible assets.

Then call me (please bear in mind I am in the UK which is 5 hours ahead of US EST time!!) – If I don’t answer, just leave me a message and I will call you back.

As committed to your success as you are,

Yep – I think we all get those days Rodney – I had many. It felt like I was all alone over here in the UK trying to put it all together – it was only when I joined MLSP that I found a fantastic group of marketers to share hints and tips with and somehow we were all good at something and were all able to help each other. It made such a difference.

  2. Hi Nicky,

Cash gifting is moving quickly for me, and I am happy with it.

If it were not, I would be on board. And I mean that! OK…that’s my testimonial ;)

Your energy is infectious. Really, your viewpoint on how to view life’s setbacks – aka “springboards” – brought you immense success, and it will continue to prosper you.

The Olympian gets it. Always something else to aim for. We were designed to achieve, to reach a purpose, to stay on path toward a goal, to hold an intent until that intent is manifest. Without goals, you die a little more each day…and when your heart stops beating, it’s gonna be a formality.

    Thanks for sharing Nicky!

Boy Nicky can I ever relate. I’ve been in two opportunities and my first one my upline abandoned me after only two months and this current one they are building it the old school way. Many a times I’ve felt all alone but the difference is I continued until I found my own way to build my business.

You are so right, once you start getting leads and then sales you no longer feel like a failure. But I am always preaching that consistency is the key. Never give up because if you’re doing the work and continuing to learn it will all start to fall into place and your time will come.

Great information for anyone looking for a business and/or a mentor. I wish you continued success in 2012. I have no doubt you’ll achieve all your goals for this year.

  7. Very inspiring, Nicky. I love the examples you’ve given, about leads not calling you back or your downline suddenly disappearing — the things that throw most people totally off for weeks or even the whole year.

You are so right — consistency, persistence and longevity make the difference between success and failure.

  10. Awesome post Nicky!! Most people do look at set backs as set backs.. I tend to look at them as milestones and that I am that much closer to my goals. The laws of the universe say that you will attract what you are.. So if you are negative in your mind you will attract negative things. Keeping positive and thinking “as if” is one of my biggest keys to success.. You must Believe it to achieve it!! Love you girl and absolutely love seeing you rise to the top!! Woo HOOO!!

    Dear Nicky,

It’s a real pleasure to be connected with you. I am so glad that we were brought together by way of Ken Pickard’s group.

I love this little takeaway from you here: You see when your head is in the right place – the technical obstacles become immaterial, because you just KNOW that a solution will present itself. It always does.

This is so key, Nicky. When we are operating from the place of a silent resolve within us, everything changes because we have all ready connected to our success. That makes all the difference!

Happy New Year to you! I’m looking forward to growing alongside you in 2012!!

    Nicky,

All the “bad” things that could happene that you mentioned happened to me in 2011 as newbie to MLM/online marketing…all in a span of the last 5 months of the year. I have to admit there were times I I was really discouraged and thought ” Why am I doing this?” but when I got my mindset right ggod things just “seemed to happen”.

    Amazing how that works…

Isn’t that true? The obstacles still come, but the solutions come too and this is why this year I am looking much more to “mindset” – I’ve known it, but never really believed I was holding myself back – until I just decided i was going to do it!!

Sorry to hear you had a disappointing few months in MLM, but I think it is very common and of course you survived, so you will be stronger for it!

Howdy! I realize this is kind of off-topic but I needed to ask. Does managing a well-established website such as yours take a massive amount work? I am completely new to operating a blog but I do write in my journal on a daily basis. I’d like to start a blog so I will be able to share my experience and views online. Please let me know if you have any kind of recommendations or tips for new aspiring bloggers. Appreciate it!

    Hi Lacey
Aologies – your comment went to my rather over-active spam filter – I have no idea why, but I have retrieved it!
In answer to your question, I guess it depends on what you are wanting to achieve from your blog and who your target market is. For example if you are looking to generate business for your company then your posts to your blog need to be well thought out using keywords so that your posts can be “found” by the search engines to generate traffic and leads. You will then need a plan on where to syndicate your blog posts (where does your target market “hang out ” on line).
There is a lot that can be done and as I do favour blogging and article marketing you will find lots of tips and advice in my articles on my blog – I have also have a free 7-day marketing tutorial which will give you an idea on the ways to generate leads online. I have also done a video on keyword research and article marketing for newbies which you may find useful – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nhkSI_R-1Q

    Hope that helps a bit,
    Nicky

Well that’s news to me Lacey!- I had no idea I was on there, only that I do get some traffic
    from Yahoo.
It must just be writing keyword researched articles as I explain to you in your comment above.
If your article is relevant to the keyword and people search for it and then stay on your
website, then this tells the search engines that your blog is a good match for the search.
    Congruency and relevancy is key.
    .
I used to have a high “bounce” rate from my blog (i.e people read the article and leave) so
now I have added a couple of plugins to keep people there – such as the related articles
plugin. You can monitor bounce rate and many other stats with Google Analytics. Its a bit
of work to set up in the beginning but well worth it so you can make adjustments to keep
people on your site as much as possible.
