5 x Small Business Marketing Ideas

small business marketing ideas Small business marketing ideas for home or local businesses.

As more and more people are searching the internet and looking for a ‘Plan B”  I have decided to list some small business marketing ideas that will enable local or home businesses feature along with the “Big Boys” on page one of the search engine rankings.

So why is this important when the search engines are global and maybe you are only interested in local business?

Well for starters it is a fact that 94% of businesses are now found using the internet and by learning some simple marketing strategies you would be able to promote your business in a way that is considerably cheaper (and probably a lot more effective) than newspaper adverts and get your business found locally.

So here’s my top 5 small business marketing ideas to getting your business found!

Small Business Marketing Ideas 1

Get yourself a web presence – a simple wordpress blog with a bright modern theme is all that is required and before you stop reading thinking it’s too hard – then please don’t be put off.   It’s actually so much cheaper these days than in the old days when you had to hire programmers and web developers to create anything remotely good looking.

Simply click here to find out how quickly and easily you can have a web presence set up and ready to go for you ==>  Click Here

As part of any package I sell, I will automatically give you FREE training videos on how to write content that will be found by the big search engines and how to identify and target your ideal prospects for your product or service.

Small Business Marketing Ideas 2

Once you have a web presence you want to be making sure that you are attracting people (traffic) to your website.

Create a Twitter, YouTube and Facebook account and post your blog article (about your business/products etc)  to your accounts.

55% of your target prospect is now on Facebook.  If Facebook were a country….it would be the second largest country on the planet which means if you want to get SEEN – then missing out on Facebook marketing would probably be a mistake.

With the incredible advertising targeting you have on Facebook, it is possible to narrow down the audience that sees your advert to people in your area, Mums, Dads, people earning over a certain income with interests that match your product.  Facebook is one still one of the most powerful advertising strategies right now and if you’d like to learn more about how to do that then you can grab some free training here .

As part of a special offer we have for May 2017 – we are doing a Facebook business page, content and all your links plus 20-30 items of content set up for you to start advertising.

As part of this service we would help you identify your perfect customer or client and then craft an offer that they will be excited to take you up on.

Click Here for more information ==>

You could also create a video of your product or service or you demonstrating a skill onto YouTube and leave a link in the YouTube comments field back to your new website.  If you would like to learn how to do that simply and effectively then I have created a free downloadable “cheat sheet” for you which is available on the home page of my blog – Click Here ==>

Small Business Marketing Ideas 3

Does your product or service go hand in hand with a similar local business that you know and like?  If so, consider exchanging website links and promoting their site on yours and yours on theirs.

You can even do testimonials for each other.

If you have a website with an offer, and you are building a list of subscribers, then you could easily do a “newsletter swap” – i.e you send out content to another local business and they use your list to send out theirs.

Small Business Marketing Ideas 4

Ensure that you list your business with sites such as Google places for business,  and Bing places for business   https://www.bingplaces.com/  ensuring you leave your website details.  Also make sure that you add your website details to every single piece of correspondence you do with a strapline designed to pique people’s curiosity.

Building your local business pages and getting REVIEWS is extremely important in 2017.

80% of your prospective customers or clients will check out any sort of service online either through social media or their website prior to going there for the first time.   88% of those people are heavily influenced by reviews from other people

If your business is brand new – ask your family or close friends to add something to their emails about your new business and be sure to ask them for recommendations and referrals.  You could even ask your local newspaper store to add a flyer in their deliveries about your business with your website details and the promise of a free gift or discount.

Small Business Marketing Ideas 5

Have an opt-in form on your website so that you can build a client list of people who are genuinely interested in your products.  An opt-in form is simply a form where someone will leave their email address in exchange for something of yours that they want.  You can decide what the enticement could be – could it be a free report on something, or maybe a tester product, or a money off voucher?  You can get creative here.
Once you have their email addresses you can use a simple Auto-responder mailing service like Aweber  to  send out either a series of automated emails or an email blast to notify them of  special offers.  (You can create the opt-in form on the emailing system too – it’s very simple to do).

Okay so I hope my 5 small business marketing ideas has given you something to think about. You see your blog is your own prime piece of advertising space and by learning some simple marketing strategies to get people over to your website, it is actually very easy to  rank your website on the front page of the search engines.

One of the best marketing systems out there right now for home and small businesses is MLSP – you can find out more about it by Clicking Here ==>

You can also promote affiliate products or services on your blog that you like that can earn you additional revenue.  Every little helps right?

The training I mentioned above is all included by me when you join at the Mastery level in MLSP.

In addition to the training I provide, I also provide access to my private facebook coaching group where you can ask any questions you like as it is full of business owners from all around the world.  I do regular webinars and hangouts and help you with all aspects of marketing your business so you get more leads, sales and sign ups.

Sounds great Andrew. If I could make a suggestion? – I just hopped over to look at your website (which is nice and clean looking… BUT) I would strongly suggest you have a WordPress. ORG rather than a .com so that you have control over what you can post.
You have probably not finished it yet, but in order to get traffic, I would have a “lead magnet” with an optin box so that you are building list of subscribers.
    Thanks for stopping by,
    Nicky

Let me know if I can help you with anything James – the key to generating traffic online is to have an “irresistible offer” that we call a “lead magnet” on your website. This should be hooked up to your auto responder so that you can get your prospect’s emails. So is there something “free” that you could give away? Then you simply run a paid ad to your lead magnet using Facebook PPC as their targeting is highly specific.
If you want to hop over to my Facebook marketing group, I will be happy to add you and give you some more tips there if you would like.
    Kind regards
    Nicky

Thanks for your encouraging post. I agree that a web presence is the first thing all small businesses must do to put the word out about their products and services. Good point that wordpress.com is a great free way to get started. Don’t think because it is free that it is not valuable. Google loves wordpress and will rank blogs in that format. appreciate your time and talents

Small businesses should make their websites mobile-friendly. They should also be active in social networking sites. People are using their mobile devices to access the internet and one huge reason for this is social media.

Very informative post Nicky. But I was wondering, without a good funnel, how much success can a company expect by doing advertisement directly on social media platforms. And after getting a lead, converting that lead is the toughest job. Will you cover that in your training?

Local web presence is also definitely important for small businesses and it goes hand in hand with getting reviews. a quik look at moz local will tell any small business how the main directories like yelp and google my business are showing their profiles and moz local will also point out any inconsistencies. Ranking in the localgoogle 3-pack is very important now a days and getting those profiles in tip-top shape is the best way to do that!

It absolutely is and just ensuring that all your friends and family know exactly what it is you’re doing so that they can make these referrals. Super effective when you first get going and when you get that first customer, then knowing how to nurture them and create testimonials for your business is the next step. My firm favourite is a Facebook page because this is where friends and family can really help you share your business.
