Are you quite literally “selling the dream, but living the nightmare?”

That’s an expression that I heard in one of our trainings the other day and it really struck home with me.

Because that’s exactly how I felt this time last year when I was getting measly $15 commissions per sign up from one business and from another I didn’t get anything until I had signed up 3 people and then after that only when they were active with a very costly autoship.

I was burned out.  Exhausted from trying to fit it all in as a busy Mum with another job too.

I was getting to the point that I couldn’t continue and this was the second time I had felt like this.

The first time was when I was building my business offline and I had to stand up in front of a hotel meeting room full of skeptical prospects telling them that all they had to do was find 5, who would find 5 who would find 5 and then  all of a sudden they would have a huge residual income……..

Do you know what I mean?

Well if you’re in Network Marketing you probably know what I mean.  Affectionately known as “drawing the circles” to excited prospects who are catching a fleeting glimpse at a dream of theirs only for it to be dashed 3 months later as reality sets in.

The thing is – I knew that there was something I was missing.  There had to be.  I felt like I was giving everything for literally nothing in return.

So fast forward to today  and I am actually on holiday with my husband, my two children and our chocolate Labrador “Archie” in a beautiful cottage on the West coast of Wales in the UK.   The internet access here is extremely limited due to the remote location, but it has just about held up long enough for me to check in with my business .

And I looked back at the 4 days I have been away for to see what income had come in.  And this is what I saw from just one income stream.

Not only that, but I found out that in a Company with over 117,000 affiliates I am placed at position number 196 out of the whole company in the current competition.   And I’ve not even been around to do anything for the last week.

I was blown away and at the same time, completely humbled so I did a quick video when we were at a bar overlooking the bay earlier this evening.  I had to speak quite quietly as I didn’t want to disturb the peace and tranquility, and it might not really show how amazed and excited I am – so you may need to turn up the volume – but actually I felt like shouting this from the top of the mountain to anyone who would listen because I want as many people as possible to experience this.

So I can probably hear you say – well that’s great for you Nicky, but I would rather just know what you did to get there and not have you go on about what you earned.

And if you feel like that,  then I understand, because that’s how I used to feel.
